Deep Talk with a Friend — Emotional Maturity
There comes a time when as a human, you realize that you are so weak with complicated thoughts that make you even more anxious (but still can’t change things). Humans are never free from a state of ignorance, which makes them so dependent on God like the one who knows everything.
As you get older, you realize that life’s trials are getting tougher and make you feel that everything that is present in life, whether it’s good or bad is felt, it has an impact on your life that you may not realize. Life is more fun when we know that what we live is actually not for ourselves, but for those around us.
I met a friend who was much older than me. He has a much more diverse life experience and taught me the meaning of the fruit of sincerity. When you grow up, you will realize that every trial that comes in your life is because you will move up a grade in your more complex state of life and thinking. Truly, he has felt what it means to be sincere which is a lesson that I must implement in my life as well.
He has dreams and goals in life with the definition of freedom he has. close to family, a carefree life, running a business, to living a nomadic life. He has a desire to live as he wants because he feels bored with what he has.
He started his business which is engaged in something he is passionate about, such as event and campaign management. Initially, every businessman must feel that the business must continue to change and adapt to market conditions and circumstances. Until finally, he had a dream as one of the startups that provides end-to-end event needs ranging from venues, and crew to interesting speakers. Seen as an event management agency that will become big.
However, in the critical process of finding his identity even though he is 30 years old, he continues to live.
He experienced the first painful thing, which was being left by the team and letting them fly higher with what they had in their new job. It is not easy to let someone go for him to be much more successful and happier. He began to learn that there are times when we have to struggle alone with the dreams we have, will we still believe in living it even though we don’t have anyone?
Subsequently, he learned to abandon the title of “Founder of …” which might make him feel even taller and arrogant. When he feels that when he goes through everything he doesn’t know a lot and has to learn again from scratch, then how does he try to find ways to maintain his business. Until he got to the point that he was offered a job in a company, while he ran his business. He tried hard to refuse but he got advice that this work is not only about him, but must be done because there is a big impact around him.
He is willing to try hard and be arrogant and maintain his pride for something that doesn’t exist, he feels that in life sometimes there are big decisions that you have to do even if you don’t want to.
It’s not just about you.
It’s about people around you.
He made me learn to be able to begin to see a more open self and accept every situation, even if we don’t like it.
He said one thing that was enough to touch me.
“When you grow up, you realize that when you get a new problem or test, it’s a moment for us to move up the ladder — develop into a more resistant and stronger person”
That’s what makes me really feel that in every process of human life, there won’t be the same starting line or the same success metrics. Anything is a beautiful thing when it is drawn straight from the process of our lives, both failures and successes.
“We are a film that keeps playing that we also don’t know what the ending is,” I said
I’m still 25 years old, still in crisis looking for an identity or future. still in the process of working hard to achieve endless success.
Everyone has their own test.
Don’t try to compare with other people who have the privilege because they are not you.
