Traveling is my monthly priority this year, which makes me feel happier and appreciate life more. Travel makes me feel like I have a lot of listings in life to achieve. And fortunately, that I live in a country with many places that have beauty, from the mountains or the sea, it makes me even more excited to explore the tourist list.

I just had the opportunity to travel this year, and because I just got permission from my parents to go out of town. Then, only now I have savings and can spend money on travel.

One of the trips that impressed me the most was when I went to Sebesi Island, in South Lampung. One of the islands in the Sunda Strait. Tourist areas that are difficult to reach must coordinate with local residents and take a traditional ferry with at least certain people. When I saw that there was an open trip to the area, without thinking twice I immediately paid and actually haven’t told my parents to this day that I’ve been to South Lampung, and even set foot on Mount Krakatau.

The trip to Lampung took about 12 hours from the meeting point in Cawang, and we changed various means of transportation, from buses, ferries, to small buses until we arrived at the inn. Okay, I’ll tell you how my experience was when there. A trip that I never imagined would move islands without my parents knowing. So sorry, but if I give permission, they definitely won’t allow it.

I departed from the meeting point, Cawang, to Merak Harbor for two hours. I arrived at midnight, bought a ticket for Merak to Bakauheni Harbor. I was really excited when I saw such a big ferry, which can even accommodate many trucks, cars and motorbikes. This is my first experience. And it turns out that taking a ferry that big doesn’t make you seasick at all. I was very excited about my journey that day, not knowing that there would be many interesting things when I arrived.

I happened to be right at bedtime when crossing the Sunda Strait. Too bad, I just found out that the air conditioner on the ship is off. So, I was forced to go out to where people were smoking to get some fresh air because it was very hot inside. However, it was fun because it was finally dawn at 3, I had arrived at Bakauheni. Yes, the trip takes about 2–3 hours.

Then, we continue using a small bus to get to a crossing with a traditional ferry to Sebesi at Chanti Pier. There, it turned out that someone was selling Nasi Uduk, but I chose Indomie for breakfast. And I was really amazed to see the mountains and the beach at the same time.

This is just the initial view, but already soothing. I was grateful and did not expect that I had reached Lampung. Then, finally when the time came, the traditional ferry came and finally we sat on the boat to cross to Sebesi Island for about 2 hours too. At first I was afraid that I would get drunk while sitting on the boat. But, because it was still early and still excited, I didn’t feel the slightest bit of headache. I was even amazed by the scenery there.

I just recommend Sebesi Island as a location that must be visited at least once in a lifetime.

Can’t wait to show off the sights of the places I visited, I’ll tell you about them in the next article.
