Sebesi Island Trip: to be a human living on the coast
The trip to Sebesi Island, is still one of the most memorable trips for me. Like I have experience as a coastal resident for 3 days. But,this trip made my skin burnt black from direct sunlight. Living in a coastal area, you really have to be patient with the hot temperatures. However, I was ready with all the risks. no matter how I look later, I only care about my own happiness, full of pleasant experiences. Like a story that must be arranged to be told to my children and grandchildren later. That, I have traveled around Indonesia, met various kinds of people, and learned to be tolerant of differences.
Even though it’s been months since that trip, I haven’t forgotten every single moment there. everything is recorded clearly in my brain, because it really impresses. being in awe of the creator, that he was able to create something as good, as orderly and as beautiful as that.
Where are the locations that I visited while on Sebesi Island?
Sebuku Island
Actually, from the chanti pier, I didn’t go straight to the inn on Sebesi Island. However, I stopped by an uninhabited beach on Sebuku Island. The beach is very beautiful and the sand is still white. Actually I’ve changed my snorkeling clothes, but here we are just enjoying the beach and taking pictures, not for snorkeling, okay? When you see the blue sea water combined with the harmony of the sound of the waves, you have no thoughts other than being grateful to have the opportunity to come here.
Sebuku Island is still well maintained, and indeed the beaches in the Sunda Strait area are still well kept clean by local residents. It’s also quite difficult to travel here without the help of local residents, because the sea waves are quite high and ferries only want to carry a certain minimum number of people. It feels good to hold white sand. This is just the beginning but I’ve already said the word WOW a thousand times. My eyes really lit up, seeing that Indonesia is very beautiful. If you want to explore it to the end, it might take a lifetime.
Geligi and Cemara Snorkling Spot
After that, the next activity was snorkeling at two snorkeling spots, namely Geligi and Cemara. Activities that make me so impatient to see the beauty in the sea. Previously, I already understood how to snorkel because I took a trip on Pari Island which is not far from Jakarta. The goal, so I’m not too scared or shocked. And it’s true, while there it turned out that from the boat to the underwater photo point it was very far. The sea waves are so high that it is difficult to swim. And the rented snorkel equipment is not that good, and the sign on the next trip must have its own snorkeling equipment.
However, the sight of the eye at that time amazed me because I saw the sea and the mountain together. Maybe, if I said I was in Sulawesi, my friends would believe it. However, it is really beautiful and everyone admires it. It doesn’t feel like it’s wasted all the way here. It’s also fun to swim and see the coral that is so sturdy. Don’t let me swim and get hit by coral, because later I can get injured. And unfortunately, not so many fish, because it is in the middle of the sea. However, it was one thing that I braved my fear of the sea. The sea turned out to be very beautiful.
Here it turns out a lot of small transparent jellyfish. It feels like a small knife crushing and it hurts quite a bit. However, I still like the moment when I float on a buoy, see the sea and sky, just stay silent and talk to myself. Even though salt water enters my mouth and eyes, it doesn’t reduce my happiness for the sea. I’m starting to like the sea. I’d love to linger. Even though at that time I was snorkeling right at 12 noon and the sun was hot, but I didn’t have a headache at all. Maybe because I was happy, endorphins became my pain reliever at that time.
After snorkeling in two places, I went straight to the inn to take a shower. Hair feels hard exposed to sea water. I washed my hair many times on this trip. However, that’s fine. Every happiness always has a risk, just like travel. If you want to stay relaxed, yes, you can just stay at home, but you’re not happy. That day was my happiest moment of the year.
I also had lunch with fried fish and chili which I enjoyed very much, although I was a bit late due to a shower so that only the fish head was left. Local food is delicious there. Coconuts are also cheap, only IDR 10,000 for 1 coconut. I didn’t want to miss this opportunity to eat lots of coconuts in such hot weather.
Umang-Umang Island
Then, I went to Umang-Umang Island in the afternoon, because the plan was to see the sunset there. One beautiful beach, and I found lots of pretty rocks. Eits, I brought a pretty hard rock as a gift for my boyfriend. The plan, I want to collect all the beautiful corals in every region in Indonesia. As a form of the most real memento that brings memories there again.
On Umang-Umang Island, the beach is also uninhabited, white sand and there are black rocks there. It was my first time seeing a very beautiful beach, even though everything was beautiful there. There, I relax and take pictures. I was lying on the beach sand so I had to wash my hair again because it was a drone photo experiment by my tour leader. But that’s okay because I have very good photo documentation there.
I spent time on Umang-Umang Island until sunset, and saw a beautiful orange clear sky. I sat on the beach because it was already wet, while collecting lots of rocks of various shapes. Apparently, the fish there are much more numerous and unique in shape compared to our previous snorkeling spot which only got nemo.
And before maghrib we return to the inn. I was also happy at night, because that day I ate squid padang sauce. I can finally taste fresh squid which is not tough in texture. Enjoyed the dinner. Duh, I don’t feel like going home because I’m too comfortable. Because that day my activities were very busy, I finally fell asleep accidentally at 8 pm. However, I really have to hurry because tomorrow I will wake up at dawn to go to Krakatau.
